Kharma is a sweet puppy who was rescued with her sister Kismet from a First Nation's Reserve. Kharma loves to play and has a spunky personality. She is curious, affectionate and exuberant. Kharma lives with other dogs, cats and a toddler in her foster home and is fine with all of them. She loves everyone she meets. Like any puppy she will require training and lots of love.

I found a fabulous forever home with my brother Stevie!

ID#2009-92, Adopted Aug 26, 2010

Patches and her siblings were found with their mother, Mabel in some flower beds!  Luckily for them, the flower beds belonged to a very kind lady who took them all in to keep them safe.  The kittens were born approximately June 18th, 2009.

Patches is female and is grey tabby with peach patches!  She is shorthaired.  All of the kittens are very social and are living with dogs, cats and kids. They love to play on their scratch post and wrestle with each other.

Patches is currently in a foster home with her brother Stevie and they would love to be adopted together or with other playful cats.

From Patches' foster mom: Patches is very playful. She loves to play with any time of ball, as well as paper towel rolls. She loves the bathtub and is facinated with the toilet when someone flushes it. She also really likes toilet paper. If the cupboard is left open she will get a roll and bring it down the stairs and play with it. She also loves to cuddle and be close to people. She is very sweet and affectionate.

Patches is available for adoption through Grand River All-Breed Animal Rescue!  If you are interested in her, please visit our website: www.grandriverallbreedrescue.ca or phone us at 519-650-9228.  You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com

I found a fabulous forever home with my sister Patches!

ID#2009-89, Adopted Aug. 26, 2010

Stevie and his siblings were found with their mother, Mabel in some flower beds!  Luckily for them, the flower beds belonged to a very kind lady who took them all in to keep them safe.  The kittens were born approximately June 18th.

Stevie is the only male of the litter, and is a longhaired grey tabby.  All of the kittens are very social and are living with dogs, cats and kids. They love to play on their scratch post and wrestle with each other.

Stevie is in a foster home with his sister Patches and would love to be adopted with her or with other playful cats.

From Stevie's foster mom: Stevie is very playful. He doesn't really care for too many toys. He would rather play with his sister or our cat Pudge. He also loves the bathtub and the toilet. Stevie does not care to be picked up and carried around. He just likes to hang out and have someone pet him.

Stevie is available for adoption through Grand River All-Breed Animal Rescue!  If you are interested in him, please visit our website: www.grandriverallbreedrescue.ca or phone us at 519-650-9228.  You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com

I was reunited with my brother Oscar when his forever home decided he needed a sister and adopted me!

ID#2009-39, Adopted August 2010

Rose and her siblings (Homer, Oscar and Lilly) are very lucky!  They found themselves homeless and unwanted at an overcrowded shelter.  One of our volunteers was there picking up another cat when she noticed these guys and couldn't leave them behind!

Thanks to a wonderful teenager in her foster home, Rose (as well as Lilly and Homer) have been extremely well socialized.  Rose is absolutely gorgeous.  Her grey tabby coat has wonderful markings, and she is very sleek and stunning.  She is a great personality and will make a wonderful companion to some lucky family.

Rose is not skittish when company arrives at all, she seems to take it all in stride taking her leave when she has had enough.  That said, she prefers to be on the sofa beside you rather than in your lap.

Rose was born in the middle of March 2009 and is approximately 10 months old.

Rose is available for adoption through Grand River All-Breed Animal Rescue!  If you are interested in her, please visit our website: www.grandriverallbreedrescue.ca or phone us at 519-650-9228.  You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com

MANY THANKS to the Fergus Global Pet Foods for showcasing me!  Because of this, I found my forever home in Fergus!

Adopted Aug. 16, 2010

**Karter was named in appreciation of our generous sponsor, Erbsville Kartway!**

KARTER, CHIP, and CHICOPEE are now staying at Global Pet Foods in Fergus at 600 Scotland Street!  Please go visit them there to see if they are the right match for you!  Many thanks to Global Pet Foods Fergus for hosting this trio!

Karter and her friends (12 kittens in total) were taken from one of our cat colonies that we help manage.  Our goal is to spay and neuter all the adults in the colony, remove and adopt out all the adoptable cats, including kittens, and provide assistance for the kind folks who then care for the remaining ferals (by feeding them, watching for illness, etc.).  Karter and her friends were born into this colony and were removed once they were weaned so that they could live the luxurious life of housecats!  Karter is very lucky in that she will never have to struggle to survive, fight for her space in the colony, or suffer outside in the elements.

Karter is currently 6 weeks old, and will be available for adoption in 2 weeks (approximately the week of June 13th).

Karter is female, and has a shorthaired black coat.

From Karter: I am a very petite kitten with unusual colouring.  At first glance you may think that I am all black, but I'm not!  It is almost like I have chocolate brown mixed in with my black and subtle but beautiful stripes around my belly.  I also have soft whisps of white on my front legs.  I am a happy outgoing kitten who will give you a big purr when you scoop me up to cuddle me.  I must admit that I am adorable!!!!!  I am just waiting for my perfect forever home!!

Karter was removed from the colony before she  became feral, so he is very comfortable around people (and other cats) and is very friendly, social and playful!  She will make a wonderful pet.

Karter is available for adoption through Grand River All-Breed Animal Rescue!  If you are interested in her, please visit our website: www.grandriverallbreedrescue.ca  or phone us at 519-650-9228.  You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com

Tic Tac found his forever home in Toronto!  He will have another schnauzer named Coco for his sister!

Adopted August 13, 2010

Tic Tac is a male 18 month old miniature schnauzer poodle mix who recently entered a program from a home who was unable to care for him any longer.

He weighs about 15 pounds and probably won't get any bigger. He is crate trained and is very sweet with people he trusts. He was kept in a cage for long days and is not well socialized so is fearful of new people at first and will bark at them. If people meet him slowly and let him sniff he is fine.

He does startle easy so no children would be best as he will nip out of fear. He is not house trained yet but his foster is working on it. He was just recently neutered which will also help.

He loves cats and would be fine with some cat companions.

From his foster mom: "Just wanted to give you an update on Tic Tac.  I feel like I'm starting to understand him more which is great.

He actually gets along rather well with dogs, I think it was more my dog that had the issue with him at first but now they play together all the time and really seem to like each other.  I also took him to the dog park a few times which he loved and was excellent with the other dogs.  He even played nicely with a teacup yorkie.  In fact, he will roll over and submit to most dogs.  He likes to bat his paw at them to encourage play."

This little guy deserves a second chance in a home where he can get lots of attention and with someone who has patience to let him settle in at his own pace.

Tic Tac is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  Please fill out an application at our website www.grandriverallbreedrescue.ca    or phone us at 519-650-9228.  You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com

I fit in so well with my foster home that they adopted me!

Adopted Aug. 12, 2010

Buddy is a 7 year old male golden retriever X poodle (aka "Goldendoodle") who has come into our care from someone who can no longer care for him.  He is a large-sized dog, weighing approximately 80 lbs.

From his foster mom: Buddy is a wonderful dog.  Very calm and gentle with everyone after his initial excitement of meeting you.  He has become very protective of his foster family.  He is fully housetrained and only wants to be loved, any chance he gets he will come up and nudge you with his nose and ask for some attention.  He gets along well with dogs and cats.  We took him camping and he was very well behaved even when we stayed in hotel rooms.  He is a perfect gentleman.  Buddy would be best suited to a family with children older than 10 (Buddy doesnt realize how big he is and tends to nudge and sometimes doesnt like it when he is being squeezed hard - but only growls and has withdrawn).  He loves the outdoors and swimming.

He loves to swim, fetch a ball and run at the off leash park.

Buddy is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  Please fill out an application at our website www.grandriverallbreedrescue.ca     or phone us at 519-650-9228.  You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com

I found my perfect forever home where I can be a diva!

Adopted Aug. 6, 2010

Angel is a 10 year old female cat who is declawed.  She is sadly losing her home due to no fault of her own.

From her current owner:

Angel was given to us by a couple that split up 5 years ago.  She lived with a dog but no other cats.   They told us she could live with other cats but unfortunately we were mislead so they could get rid of her.  It took many years for her to tolerate living with 5 other cats and this was only possible with her having her own room and litterbox.   She has been bullied by the resident cats and we have done everything to try and get her to fit in, including hiring a behaviourist.   Angel is ok with dogs but tends to swat them if they come near her, so would be best as an only pet.  Angel on her own terms without pets around is friendly, outgoing with new people coming over but gets upset when other animals come around while you are petting her.   She is the type that she will run to the door to greet you but if other dogs and cats do too, she will walk away.   She loves to follow you around and get you to herself but she is always looking over her shoulder and because of this gets upset easily.  I think she would be a totally different cat as only cat if she as given the chance to settle in.  She has tolerated my fostering for so many years and has done the best she can but it has made her quite cranky.

Unfortunately Angel is going through another split.  We are moving in with family where she will have to tolerate not only the cats who bully her that she currently lives with but 4 other cats.  There will be no spare rooms for her to have to herself anymore. Angel will not be able to tolerate this stress.  We are pleading for a new home for her by August 27 otherwise we have to consider euthanasia.

If you can help Angel, please contact us.

Angel is available for adoption through Grand River All-Breed Animal Rescue!  If you are interested in him, please visit our website: www.grandriverallbreedrescue.ca   or phone us at 519-650-9228.  You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com
