Socks

Hi, my name is Socks (tabby with white feet) and I am an escape artist who knows how to unlock latches. I am extremely friendly and not afraid of much. I’ve been raised with two golden retrievers, 2 older kittens and I am the bravest of my 2 siblings. I am very affectionate, playful and easy going. At night I curl up with my favourite human and cuddle him to sleep. I am a climber and have a bad habit of counter surfing, I need a clear counter space to keep me safe as I like to try anything. When ever you attempt to clean the litter I am happy to inspect and leave behind a thank you…every time!

I thrive off of routine, I don’t like to be alone and will cry out for hours if I am by myself. I am best suited for a home that has other animals (kittens/cats/puppies/dogs).

Bear

Bear was adopted by his foster mom in December 2023!

Ron & Harry

Ron and Harry were adopted!

Beyonce & Solange [Degus]

Prepare to meet the coolest sister duo! Beyonce and Solange are two female, Degu sisters. They are very sweet and used to being handled. They also come out to visit when their cage is opened and enjoy chit chatting back and forth. They also enjoy running on their wheel and creating burrows throughout their habitat. Future owners should know that Degus can eat through typical plastic enclosures. As such, Beyonce & Solange’s foster is happy to include most
of her supplies in the adoption (very large cage, wheel, any extra shavings, and food etc.) as she will no longer need them once these awesome girls are adopted.

Beyonce and Solange were adopted September 2023!

Michael

Hi, I’m Michael. I am about 8 mths old.  If you “Hi” to me, I will say “Hi” back and then come up to rub against you so I can make you mine. I love to play catch <insert whatever cat toy> on a string and if you really get me going, I can do acrobatic flips in the air. I don’t mind other cats or kids because I just love to play and if they are into playing with me, it makes me so happy! I am not just all about playing – I do love being in your lap or being the little spoon if you’ll let me. I am an excellent coworker if you work from home, I love being your keyboard warmer or hand rest while you work.

Michael is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue.  The adoption donation is $250 per cat. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Pickles & Domino

These adorable kittens were adopted before they even made it to the site!

Gucci

Gucci was adopted in October 2023!

Evee

Evee was rescued from a barn when she was 8 weeks old. She has lived with a loving family for the last 7 years. She is a typical torti, full of attitude and spunk. When she first came to me she hissed and growled. After 4 weeks she turned a corner and now is a very loving and affectionate companion. She still has her torti attitude, but she she is a sweet comical kitten. Evee doesn’t get along with all the foster cats and would be better suited to a single cat home. If you think you can invest the time and patience in her she will repay you with plenty of love. Evee is declawed.

Evee is looking for a forever home or a foster home. If you’re interested in becoming a foster for GRAB, please head to our foster application here!

Evee is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue.  The adoption donation is $250 per cat. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Phoebe & Roxy [Guinea Pigs]

These two lovely ladies are just under two years old and are a bonded pair who must go together. Phoebe has red eyes and is blond. Roxy is calico. They love lettuce and will chirp for it. They can be held, but like most guinea pigs, are skittish at first. Their cage will be included with their adoption.

Phoebe and Roxy are available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue. The adoption donation is $40 for the pair, cage included. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Annie & Charlie

Annie and Charlie are sisters (approximately 7mths old as of January) that were rescued from an outdoor situation.  Annie is the more outgoing of the two, definitely a lap cat who loves to play.  She will be the first to explore everything and is less shy than Charlie.  She loves to play with string or string on a stick with some small object attached to the end of the string. If you really get her going, she will do flips in the air and even backward somersaults. One of Annie’s favourite pastimes is to sit in the window and watch birds flit back and forth to our bird feeders. They are quite entranced by them.

Charlie is much more cautious than Annie, and tends to be less visible during the day, but sleeps on the master bed at night and welcomes pets and playing with cat toys (the ones involving string on on a long stick are her favourite, as well as chasing the laser) once she knows you are a safe person.  They both tend to lean more towards softer speech and slower movements generally so a house with kids is not likely going to be a good fit.  They enjoy “play” fighting with each other as well as snuggling up and grooming each other when it’s nap time. They are both quite bonded with one another and we recommend adoption as a pair.

Annie and Charlie were adopted together to a family in Ottawa!

Honey

Meet Honey! She found a foster home and is now looking for her furever home! This sweet girl who was rescued from a kill shelter in Quebec is looking for a  permanent home. She is very affectionate with her humans and makes the cutest noises when she is happy. We think she would like to be an only cat. She is a year and half old and an indoor cat. She is a beautiful grey with peach markings and so soft. She seems to have lived with a dog. She is not fond of other cats.

Honey is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue.  The adoption donation is $250 per cat. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Meet Matchbox, who was born to a feral mom that showed up on one of our volunteer’s properties. She is 12 weeks old as of Oct. 22.  Matchbox would love a home with another cat to play with!

Matchbox is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue.  The adoption donation is $250 per cat. Licorice & Swirl

Meet some little kittens born to a feral mom that showed up on one of our volunteer’s properties. They are 12 weeks old as of Oct. 22.  Licorice is the male, black kitten, and Swirl is the black and white feamel kitten. They are very bonded and would do best if adopted together.

Licorice and Swirl are available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue.  The adoption donation is $325 per kitten. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. Max

Update: Max has recently been diagnosed with intestinal cancer and so will be keeping him in our program for now to see how he responds to medication. Any donations towards his care would be appreciated.

Update: Max has responded well to his medication and is now eating/drinking and back to himself. If someone is willing to give him a forever home knowing that he does have cancer and not sure how much time he has we would love for him to find a forever home that can give him a good quality of life to the end.

Max – a beautiful 6-year-old neutered, male cat with gorgeous blue eyes and a black heart on his nose. His colourings are tan, white and black. Max’s original owner passed away so he was taken in by a close neighbour who took wonderful care of him. However, Max was not a fan of her original cat and she was not able to keep him at her house.

He came into a foster home with Grand River All Breed 6 weeks ago and is truly a joy. Max stays close by to his humans most of the time and can be very chatty. He must be placed in a home where he is the only pet as we know he is not friendly at all with other cats, although he is very loving with his human family. We also recommend that his forever home have lots of patience at the beginning as it takes him several days to adjust to new surroundings. He loves to be scratched on his head and under his chin and will sit with his humans on his terms.

Max eats dry and wet food and drinks water from a large bowl as he doesn’t like when his whiskers touch the sides of his dishes and he uses his litter box. He has toys that he plays with once he gets comfortable and will make a wonderful pet for a loving family. We recommend an adult home or home without young kids as he is shy at first and has never lived with children.

Max is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue.  The adoption donation is $250 per cat. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Virginia

Virginia is adjusting to life in a home.  She is shy and nervous but is very food motivated.  The vet estimates that she is approximately 1-3 years of age.  Virginia had a litter of kittens that have been adopted and is now looking for her forever home.  Virginia enjoys both wet and dry food and loves her treats!  She is litter box trained and keeps herself well groomed and clean.  Virginia will take a couple of weeks to become settled in her new environment and will require an owner with patience to allow her to become comfortable and secure before reaching out to her.  Because of this, we are recommending a quiet home with no young children or other animals.  Virginia is up to date on all of her shots and has recently been spayed.

Virginia waited 2 years for her perfect forever home with a kind lady in Kitchener willing to give her a quiet loving home!.
