Tye & Civic

Tye is a sweet boy who is about 1.5 years old.

Tye came into our rescue back in August. He was caught on a rural property by a kind lady. He was emaciated and was suffering from a very bad lice infestation.

He had the typical ailments of a kitty that has been living outdoors with sneezing.

As the months have gone on Tye has put on some much-needed weight but he is still small in stature.

He is very loving and will come up and give head butts and kisses. He loves to snuggle right up on your neck. His latest trick is to sleep with his head on his foster mom’s head.

He is very playful and has learned to get along well with the resident cat and dog. He will make a game of just about anything, including chasing the dog’s tail. He gets along well with the resident cat and they have learned to play nicely together. He also doesn’t mind the dog and would do well with a respectful dog. He loves the action of a busy household so would be suited to a home with children preferably older than 10 as sometimes he will bite during play.

Tye continues to have sneezing episodes and still has a runny nose and often times he still has mucous that comes out when he sneezes. He sounds like he is constantly stuffed up but he doesn’t let that slow him down.

We have tried many different medications to try and resolve this for him and we have also visited an internist veterinarian. Tye would require a very expensive exploratory surgery to figure out what may be the underlying cause of the congestion and our rescue just doesn’t have the funds to do this for him. The vet’s best guess is feline herpes at this point which is something cats can live long normal lives with.

We are hoping to find a home for him that will accept him and give him the forever home he needs.

Tye is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue.  The adoption donation is $200 per cat. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. Max

Update: Max has recently been diagnosed with intestinal cancer and so will be keeping him in our program for now to see how he responds to medication. Any donations towards his care would be appreciated.

Update: Max has responded well to his medication and is now eating/drinking and back to himself. If someone is willing to give him a forever home knowing that he does have cancer and not sure how much time he has we would love for him to find a forever home that can give him a good quality of life to the end.

Max – a beautiful 6-year-old neutered, male cat with gorgeous blue eyes and a black heart on his nose. His colourings are tan, white and black. Max’s original owner passed away so he was taken in by a close neighbour who took wonderful care of him. However, Max was not a fan of her original cat and she was not able to keep him at her house.

He came into a foster home with Grand River All Breed 6 weeks ago and is truly a joy. Max stays close by to his humans most of the time and can be very chatty. He must be placed in a home where he is the only pet as we know he is not friendly at all with other cats, although he is very loving with his human family. We also recommend that his forever home have lots of patience at the beginning as it takes him several days to adjust to new surroundings. He loves to be scratched on his head and under his chin and will sit with his humans on his terms.

Max eats dry and wet food and drinks water from a large bowl as he doesn’t like when his whiskers touch the sides of his dishes and he uses his litter box. He has toys that he plays with once he gets comfortable and will make a wonderful pet for a loving family. We recommend an adult home or home without young kids as he is shy at first and has never lived with children.

Max is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue.  The adoption donation is $250 per cat. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. Bella

Bella is a ~ 9 year old female spayed DSH. While a bit shy at first, Bella is quick to warm up to people and absolutely loves cuddles + attention.

Bella is seeking a quiet home. She will likely do best in a home without young kids. Bella is currently living in a foster home with dogs and seems to tolerate them well. She does not seem to like the presence of other cats.

Bella is a diabetic, which means she requires twice daily insulin injections and needs to be fed a special veterinary prescribed diet.

Bella is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue.  The adoption donation is $200 per cat. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. Ozzy

Approximately two years old, this handsome short-haired ginger tabby with a white waistcoat and belly was rescued from a pound in Oxford County. He has been named Ozzy, short for the Mohawk name Ohserase, and is a hugely affectionate and good-natured cat. He craves affection and would probably settle well in a busy home with lots of stimulation. He has not been with other pets during fostering, so it’s not known how he might interact with other animals.

Ozzy is very vocal, sometimes practices ‘kneading’ and always follows you round the house. Morning is marked by him standing on your chest to remind you of feeding time!

Ozzy went through vaccination during fostering without problems and is booked for neutering on February 5th.

Ozzy is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue.  The adoption donation is $175 per cat. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. Alaska & Georgia

Alaska is approximately 8 weeks old.  She is a shy kitten that has adapted well to living inside with her mom and three siblings.  She eats and drinks well, uses the litter box and loves to play with all of the toys.  She would do well with her sister Georgia or her Mom-Virginia as they are all on the quiet side and enjoy each other’s company.  She is startled by unfamiliar noises and will run and hide in the cat tree – waiting for her litter mates to be the brave ones and check it out for her.

Alaska & Georgia are available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue.  The adoption donation is $175 per cat. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. Arctic & Dakota

Dakota is a white and tabby male kitten about 8 weeks of age. He is the only male in a litter of four. He is a true big brother as he is the bravest of the litter. He loves to play with anything that moves especially balls and feather toys. Dakota loves his sisters especially Nevada (tabby). They often play and wrestle together. Dakota eats very well and uses the litter box consistently. He is a very handsome boy looking for his forever home.

Arctic and Dakota are available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue.  The adoption donation is $175 per cat. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application.
