Paula

Paula was born on April 16, 2019 in the outdoors as part of a feral colony.  She was brought inside to a foster home at six weeks of age.  She is a super sweet girl that has transitioned well to life indoors.  She gets along great with the adult cats in the foster home. Paula eats both wet and dry food, and has mastered the litter box.  She enjoys climbing the cat tree, playing with her toy mice and loves to chase her laser toy, and the tails of anyone that walks by.Paula is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $175. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. Sarah

Sarah was born on April 16, 2019 in the outdoors as part of a feral colony.  She was brought inside to a foster home at six weeks of age.  Sarah is a special kitten in that she has “Cerebellar Hypoplasia”.  This is a neurological issue that causes her to have unsteadiness and head bobbing while she walks.  There is no treatment for this disease; the condition is permanent; however, the symptoms should not worsen and do not affect the quality or length of her life.  Because she doesn’t know any different, she does not let this stop her.  She still plays with the other foster cats in the home and is quite affectionate.  Her foster mom thinks it just makes her extra cute!  Sarah eats both wet and dry food and has no issues with the litter box. She enjoys playing with her toys and especially likes the laser pointer. Sarah will need a home where she isn’t going to be susceptible to falling downstairs – she would be a perfect apartment or bungalow cat.  She can climb, and is often in the cat tree, but she loses balance and does fall.

Sarah is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $175. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Charly

My name is Charly and I am an 8 year old chocolate lab/Chesapeake bay retriever mix. I came all the way from Quebec where my owner surrendered me. I spent nearly 4 months in the shelter and am glad to finally be out and in a home environment.

I am still energetic at my age and my favorite things to do are to play fetch, go for walks and take car rides. I sit really well in the car and settle fairly quickly. On walks, I do really well with a harness and hardly pull at all. Walks that are 30+ minutes are best, and allow me to relax and settle in for the day or night at home.

I currently live with another dog and am learning my manners! I have energy to play, but I am quickly realizing when it’s time to call it quits. I’d love another home with an active dog, but it is not necessary. I also live with a 12 year old boy and 2 rabbits! I am curious about the rabbits… But they are pretty boring so I mostly ignore them. I’d do best in a home with kids 12+ since I am 90 lbs and still learning manners and to not jump up on people. I can get pretty excited meeting new people as well and need redirection sometimes to settle down. I am very food motivated though, so training has been a breeze. I’ll do anything for a treat and praise!

When I am at home, you can usually find me sleeping, exploring the backyard or enjoying a chew. I love chews and will need strong toys that will last! Although I am not a big fan of my crate, I am getting used to being in it during the day while my foster mom and dad are at work. At night, I settle in on the bed to sleep with the family and have freedom around the house. is available for adoption together through Grand River All Breed rescue. The adoption donation is $400. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. Mittens

My name is Mittens. I am a beautiful 2 year old female tuxedo cat (black and white) and I am looking for my forever home! I have unique markings and stunning green eyes.
I was found dumped in a rural area and was thankfully found and taken in. I have since been to the vet and given a clean bill of health!

I am such a sweet girl. I love to get petted and enjoy climbing into your lap and nuzzling your chin and neck. If you give me enough attention, I think I could be a lap cat too! I am pretty quiet but I will meow for you to pet me. I also love to rub up against your legs and I love to give kisses! Purring is my second language. I am a big purr machine! I am not a very picky eater but I do enjoy being treated to canned tuna whenever I can get it!
I am also a very clean girl and I always wash after eating or using my litter box.
Since living with my foster parents, I have never had any accident outside of my litter box.
With time, I can get along with other cats but am afraid of big dogs.

I am really looking forward to being adopted into your family!

Theodore

Theodore is waiting to find his perfect human! He was approximately six months old as of January 2019. Theodore is a super shy little guy. He will need a home with a patient person that will allow him time to warm up. He is very food motivated and that will be the key to getting him comfortable. Theodore loves to explore and hunt his toys. Theodore loves other cats and would be OK with a respectful dog as well. His brothers have already been adopted, but Theodore waits patiently in his foster home for the perfect fit.

She would love to be adopted with one of her sisters – Willow, Cricket, or Monkey.

Rosie

Rosie is a true sweetheart. She was up with her foster person on the couch same day she arrived, and let them clip her nails right away. She was found in Glen Morris and her microchip number is no longer in service so we can’t track down an owner. She is 2 years old. Now while she loves love, like most cats she has her moments where she doesn’t want to be fussed over. She will meow loudly when she wants food and attention, so in the morning and in the evening, she’s also just generally chatty. Shes not too big on treats, she likes them of course, but she doesn’t understand the shaking of a bag or anything. She also won’t eat from hands, she prefers if you put them in front of her. She likes comfortable spots and she will lay in the middle of the floor, she also likes it by the sliding glass door because it’s nice and cool. She uses the scratching post. Shes a big eater and drinker. Shes also a bit of a ghost, she’s there one minute and gone the next time you look and half the time, I don’t know where she is, most likely under my bed, but she could magically appear somewhere else. She sometimes hops away when you approach but sometimes she’ll stay where she is and want pets. She loves most toys, her favourite is this catnip toy called a kitty cigar, she likes to bite and hold onto it.
