Albert

Albert is a wonderful kitten with lots of energy. He is about 10 weeks old as of July 30th. He was rescued with 2 siblings from a full animal control where we could take them into foster care.  He loves to play and explore the world around him.  He is at ease with all the other animals in his world: dogs, cats and humans of all ages, and when you are around he will come running to see what you are up to.  He is a happy little fellow that will love to interact with his new forever home.

Albert has been adopted with his sister Katie!

Katie

Katie is a beautiful loving kitty about 10 weeks old (as of July 30th). She was rescued with her 2 brothers from the outdoors and brought to a very full animal control.  We were able to bring them into foster care where they can thrive. She would love to be adopted with her brother Albert.  She tends to be a little on the shy side but warms up quickly to those in her life.  It is so exciting to watch her explore her world and become such a well rounded gentle soul. She loves to interact with her furry friends and humans alike and when she gives you her love she is all in with her quiet purring.  She will make an excellent addition to a loving home.

Katie was adopted with her brother Albert!

Catcher

Catcher is a lovely, 2 year-old, 25kg shepard mix looking for his forever home!

Catcher was surrendered by his owners to animal control along with a female dog. His friend was adopted, but Catcher found the shelter environment very stressful and was anxious and shy with potential adopters. Now that he’s in foster care, he’s blooming, and he can’t wait to have a forever family that will watch him continue to learn and grow.

Catcher is super smart and very eager to please. He loves cookies and praise and learns new things very quickly. He’s very responsive to gentle correction. Within a day, he knew he wasnt allowed upstairs and the gate could be left open. He doesn’t resource guard, but he loves kongs full of peanut butter and squeaky toys! He can be a bit shy with people at first, especially men, but once he’s given some time to meet them, he’s very gentle and affectionate. He likes puting his head in his foster mom’s lap and having his nose rubbed. He loves TV and is endlessly curious about everything, tipping his head to the side and staring in wonder every time he hears a new noise!

Catcher is crate trained and currently sleeps and eats in his crate. Sometimes he crates himself when he’s tired but can’t quite settle. He’s currently living with two dogs, one male and one female. He was unneutered until foster care, so he hasn’t quite learned all his dog manners, but he loves his foster siblings and is learning very quickly how they like – and don’t like! – to play. He would be happy to live with a dog friend, especially one who likes to rough and tumble and do zoomies in the backyard. He is large and young, so he can get overexcited, and he’d be best in families with no kids under 14.

Catcher is still learning to walk on leash, but he’s improving every day. He currently walks on a gentle leader which makes him very manageable, but his new home would have to be dedicated to continuing his leash training. He’s excitable around birds and bunnies and shouldn’t live in a home with cats or small animals. Catcher has lots of energy outside and then is very mellow inside. He likes to sleep flat on his back with all four feet in the air!

Catcher is 100% house trained and has never had an accident indoors, even around other marking male dogs. He’s well-behaved in the car, but seems to get a little car sick and can drool excessively. He’s happy to be handled and doesn’t mind his ears, teeth, and feet being poked and prodded. He loves being brushed!

Catcher is very special boy who instantly captured the hearts of his foster family. He’s so kind and loving and trying so hard to be the best boy he can be every day. All he needs to bloom into the perfect companion is a little time and patience so he can shake off his past and start his new life!

Floyd

Floyd is now up for adoption! Floyd is 2 years old and a boxer mix about 45 pounds. He is doing great in his foster home. He loves to run and play ball in the backyard so a large, fenced yard is a must for him as he really enjoys being outdoors. He is friendly with all people but does jump in excitement and go after feet when playing so kids 8 and older are recommended. We don’t yet know how he is with other animals. He does bark at dogs he sees but appears curious and friendly. We can definitely do some meet and greets to see. He needs someone who is willing to work on his basic training. He can be food motivated and is working on the basics like sit, down and come but making progress.

Floyd would prefer a home where people are home most of the time so someone who works from home would be ideal. He does get a bit anxious especially at first when people leave which is understandable considering he is a pup of the pandemic and has been moved around a few times to no fault of his own. He is a sweetheart and loves his tummy rubs and curling up on the couch for a cuddle.

Harry [ON HOLD]

Meet Harry! He is approximately 2 years old and a lab/neuf mix about 120 pounds. He is a big goof of a dog and is looking for his forever people.  He came from a home where he wasn’t able to get what he needed. He has lived with kids and cats before. He is currently in a foster home and has received vet care and is working on some basic training. Harry will need a home that has a fenced yard and people who are willing to work on his basic obedience training and exercise him daily. He is a young, fun dog who loves to be with his people. He is good with the dogs he has met.  Please read up on his breed before applying. He is in a foster home in Aurora.

Harry is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue. The adoption donation is $400. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Linus

Linus is 10 weeks old as of July 5th.

Linus is a sweet, curious little boy that is incredibly gentle with people and other pets. He loves to play tag with the foster’s chihuahua and gives the softest pats with his paws. He is content either by being cuddled in your arms (all the while staring deep into your eyes, guaranteed will melt your heart and soul) or hopping about furniture in the house.

Linus’ siblings are also available for adoption: Teddy, Percy, and Molly.

Teddy

Teddy is 10 weeks old as of July 5th.

Teddy is the fluffiest of the four kittens. He loves to explore and climb high or anywhere he thinks he can reach. This has earned him the nickname of “Trouble Teddy”. He is the smallest of the boys but despite his smaller stature, can be a bit rough when wrestling with his brothers and sister. Teddy also has the loudest voice of the bunch. He will not hesitate to let you know when he needs sleep, food or water especially after a long play session around the house. Teddy does not mind being snuggled for a short time before springing back and getting into mischief.

Teddy’s siblings are also available for adoption: Linus, Percy, and Molly.

Molly

Molly is 10 weeks old as of July 5th.

Merry Molly is the tiniest of her siblings and the only female in the litter. Although the smallest, she is a tough, funny little girl who wrestles her brothers (as rough as Teddy sometimes!). She is happy to be held for a moment, purring and sometimes perching on your shoulder. Her favourite things to do is hopping from one place to another and climbing high. She recently discovered that window screens are superior to the cat tree, which undeniably, gives her a better view of the world. This has been very much discouraged by her fosters, however she will take the opportunity to climb the screens when she gets any access to them. She has a very unique and prettiest black coat colour that her mama and siblings lack, with slivers of white, like salt and pepper.

Molly’s siblings are also available for adoption: Linus, Percy, and Teddy.

Percy

Percy is 10 weeks old as of July 5th.

Percy is a calm, quiet boy who can be a little shy with new environments, people and sometimes toys too. He was the most attached to mama out of his siblings and does not mind being held by people, all the while purring his heart out.  Percy is a lovable boy and behaves as crazy as his other siblings. Percy learned a lot backstage from brothers Teddy and Linus, who were quick to push him out of his shell. He is now a superstar at being a social butterfly! He enjoys running around, playing and getting into trouble!

Percy’s siblings are also available for adoption: Linus, Teddy, and Molly.

Percy is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue.  The adoption donation is $325 per kitten. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Dahlia

Dahlia is the mama of the four kittens. She is approximately 1 to 2 years old. She came terrified, unsure how to behave around people but that changed when she learned she was getting the help she needed and her sweet personality bloomed. She has a lovely voice ranging from soft meows, chirps, and trills to let you know she is very happy. Dahlia yearns for attention and loves to weave around your legs, asking for pets on her head and along her back. She is most content when all four feet are on a solid surface.

Although Dahlia is not fond of being held or snuggled, she may come to accept in the future that these things are nice too! Dahlia is very good at using her litter box! In fact, she does such a good job at covering her mess that it is recommended that she have a large or covered litter box as she tends to kick litter further than she needs to. Dahlia usually minds her own business and is happy to sleep in a quiet corner away from other pets, so should there be other pets in her new home, they should be introduced slowly and with absolute patience.

Dahlia’s kittens are also available for adoption: Teddy, Linus, Percy, and Molly.

Each kitten is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue.  The adoption donation is $250 per cat. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Lou [Adopt or Foster]

Meet Lou! She is approximately 4 years old. She is a lab mix and on the smaller side. Her DNA test said she is mixed with cocker spaniel and doberman. She goes to doggy daycare and enjoys confident calm dogs the most. She needs some work on leash as she can be reactive to other dogs when on leash. She is housetrained and can be left loose in the home fine when her people are working or out. Lou needs a quiet adult home where she has her own fenced yard and people who can be patient and work with her on her social skills. Lou can be fearful of new people and take some time to warm up to strangers. She has never lived with cats but will chase small animals outdoors.

Lou is looking for a foster or adoptive family.

Lou is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue. The adoption donation is $400. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.
