Loris is a white and brown tabby. She has giant eyes and likes to sit back and watch her brother try things first. She is a fairly mellow kitten and likes attention on her terms, (which is most of the time). Loris also sometimes likes to go off on her own and find a nice spot to sit and watch all of the goings on.

These siblings are very gentle and loving and approx. 13 weeks old (as of Aug. 12) They are clever and they will meow to let you know if they need anything.

Comet and Loris are available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue.  The adoption donation is $175 per cat. Holly

Holly is a 1 year old tabby that was a stray in a pound that we were able to take in. Her foster fell in love and decided to adopt her herself! She will now have a canine sister and feline brother and gets along well with everyone!

Rusty & Storm

Rusty is a feisty ginger tabby who approaches anything he does with energy, enthusiasm and singled mindedness.

No half measures for this focused kitty—he goes full tilt in whatever he does, whether that’s landing in a water bucket or leaping off the edge of a precipice with no thought of consequences. Nothing keeps him down—after a crazy landing, he gives himself a shake and is off to the next adventure.

Rusty loves snuggling anywhere he can and fills the room with his purr. After whirlwind play sessions, Rusty can be found curled up with his foster brother Storm.

Storm is a quirky, sleek, long legged white kitten with dark grey patches, He is curious, independent and does the craziest grass hopper side jumps ever seen.

He adores cuddling and shows his appreciation with loud purrs.

Nap time can find him either snuggled up with his foster sibling Rusty or snoozing apart depending on his mood.

Storm is always the first one out the door. He is fearless in play and anything that moves is fair game for pouncing—whether it is a cat toy or a dog’s tail.

Rusty and Storm are available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue.  The adoption donation is $175 per cat. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. Trinity and Zorro

Trinity is a sweet natured tri-colour tabby with a laid back approach to everything except wrestling with her three foster brothers. When it comes to play, she moves from mellow to feisty and keeps up with the boys and then some.

She is a snuggler and shows her appreciation with loud purrs. She particularly likes grooming and snuggling with her foster brother Zorro.

Zorro is a charming soft brown tabby with a gentle approach to the world. His quiet manner covers a determined and playful spirit.

He adores snuggling under blankets and will take as much lap cuddling as he can get. Zorro can be found curled up with his sister Trinity after energetic play sessions.

Dimitri

Dimitri is 6 years old. He is very handsome and likes to keep his fur clean and tidy. He loves being pet on his back and sometimes even on his belly. Once a day he likes to chase his small toy mouse on a string and invites other family members to play with him. The other times during the day, he likes to enjoy some quiet time and will either watch out of the window or hide somewhere.

At night he likes to be close to his family in the same room, sometimes even on the same bed. Dimitri would fit in most households, but the best fit would probably be a family with children who could pet him but still allow him for many hours of quiet time. He is fully litter box trained. He has lived with 4 other cats and a dog previously. He was surrendered due to a crisis in the home.  He is an indoor only cat.

Dimitri is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue.  The adoption donation is $175. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Dexter

Meet Dexter! He is a 6 year old, 39 pound collie mix. He is very sweet. He was an owner surrender due to the work schedule preventing them from spending enough time with them. Dexter knows sit, ball and hand. He loves to chase and bring back the ball and will do it over and over. He is good in the house when left and is very calm.

He loves playing with toys especially his kong. He is very food motivated.  Dexter would love a home with a fenced yard where he can play ball and with an active family who will enjoy walking him.  He pulls a little on leash but with the right harness he will walk fine.

He previously lived with a cat we are told and is good with other dogs but likes to be the boss. He might enjoy being the only dog. He sometimes can be nervous of new people and may bark when feeling uneasy. We feel a home with kids 10 and up will be best.

Dexter is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $400. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Greycie & Gypsy

These two kittens were found on June 23rd in a construction yard when they were about 8 weeks old and rescued by some kind people.

Greycie and Gypsy have slowly adapted to humans and indoor life. They spend their awake time chasing and wrestling with each other. Their favourite toy is a crinkle ball and they will even play fetch with it sometimes.

They will let you pick them up when they are very sleepy but can be skittish and act timid if you go to pick them up. Greycie will now curl up on the sofa and Gypsy will let you pick her up and she will sleep on your chest and nuzzle your neck. They groom each other and will groom their humans sometimes too.  They are very bonded to each other and need to be adopted out together to a quiet adult home where they can thrive and learn to trust their people.

Greycie and Gypsy are available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue.  The adoption donation is $175 per cat. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Tabitha

Meet Tabitha!   Tabitha was born around April 30, 2020 which makes her about 11 weeks old.

She came into rescue with Henry and Winston and was found on the same rural property by a kind citizen. Tabitha is extremely shy with humans.  She has gotten a little more comfortable with human touch but is still scared.   She enjoys the company of other cats including the resident cats in the foster home. She loves to play and play fight with her friends.

Tabitha will need a family that understands that it will take her some time to get comfortable and she will also require another friendly cat to be able to build her confidence and show her that humans are good.

Tabitha is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue. Only applicants with other cats will be considered and children older than 6. The adoption donation is $175 per cat. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Henry & Winston

Henry Henry and Winston and very bonded brothers and they are about 10 weeks old (July 11) They were found by a kind citizen who had them come into rescue.   Henry is by far the most outgoing of the two brothers and he is the snuggle bug. He is not afraid of anyone or anything.  He looks for adventure and loves to sleep in his human’s arms especially near their neck. Henry is happy go lucky and loves everyone including humans and other animals.

Winston Winston is extremely bonded to Henry.  When he is alone he calls out for someone to come rescue him. Winston is more timid but has made great strides in getting comfortable with humans and he is also great with the other animals in his foster home.
The two sweethearts must be adopted together and they will make a very dynamic duo for a lucky family.

Henry and Winston are available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue.  The adoption donation is $175 per cat. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Hudson, Hicks & Newt

These three babies lost their mom when they were barely five weeks and a good Samaritan brought them to the rescue. They are eight weeks as of July 8th. They did a great job weaning early and they all eat tons of wet and dry food! They use the litter box (with a few little pee accidents) and are getting great at navigating the world. Their mother was feral, but these kittens are all love! All three love the house dog. The house cat is a bit shy, but the kittens are interested and young enough that they’d bond with another friendly cat easily.

Hudson is the black one. He’s the biggest – by a lot! – and is a total mama’s boy. He needs lots of hugs and kisses and more often than not, wants to sleep in his foster mom’s arms. He’s very playful and the most outgoing. To hear him purr, all you need to do is pick him up!

Newt is the soft, grey tabby. She’s the fluffiest, with thick, plush fur. She’s all play, all the time, and loves beating up her brothers, even though she weighs the least! Newt loves a cuddle too, but is less demanding and more likely to sleep on the chair above her foster mom’s head than in her lap. Newt is gorgeous and sweet!

Hicks is a little bit behind his siblings, developmentally. He was the last to perk up his ears and the slowest to hit every milestone. He keeps up during play time, though! He still likes to pounce and chase and wrestle with his brother and sister. He sometimes sleeps apart from the others. He loves curling up by his foster mom’s knee or just conking out randomly on the floor! Hicks might have a little catch up to do, but socially he’s just as sweet and loving and will make a great pet.

Any pair would be happy to go together, but Newt and Hudson are most likely to play and sleep together. They would be delighted to all three go together!

Hudson, Newt, and Hicks are available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue.  The adoption donation is $175 per cat. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Percy & Piper

Meet Percy (grey tabby) and Piper (white with grey markings) about 8-9 weeks of age as of July 5th. These bonded brothers love to wrestle and play together.  They roll and tumble and jump.

Percy loves to be pet and scratched when he is settling down or resting.  But is not interested in any of that when it is playtime.   Piper is more snuggly and sometimes curls up on our laps for visits.

These guys were so timid and shy when we first met them but they have come a long way! They love belly rubs and being scratched under the chin.
They are good at using the litter box, eating dry/wet food and drinking water. They love playing in boxes and tubes and whatever you may leave lying around. They are a loving duo who would be a great addition to a home willing to spend lots of time with them.

Percy and Piper are available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue.  The adoption donation is $175 per cat. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Spotify & Cirrus

Cirrus is a sweet natured grey tabby with touches of white. She is relaxed, confident and curious. She enjoys playing with her peers and tends to seek out the human in the house. She is always the first to venture forth from the “safe” room. She is close to her sister Spotify and carefully grooms her. She is equally likely to snuggle with her fellow foster kittens as she is to seek out a cosy spot of her own. Cirrus is very curious about the large household dog and has been seen to touch noses with it. She and her sister Spotify have also been seen playing swat with the dog’s tail.

Spotify is a elegant looking grey tabby with spots on her belly. She is lively, intelligent, sociable and has excellent pouncing skills. She enjoys snuggling with her humans and is swift to pounce, roll and play with her foster playmates. She is particularly close to her sister Cirrus. Although she is still a little wary she getting used to the large dog and two adult cats who live in her foster house.

Spotify & Cirrus are available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue.  The adoption donation is $175 per cat. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Harry & Loki

Harry is a spritely and playful ginger tabby. When he purrs, which he does a lot because he loves being cuddled as much as he likes playing, he does so with his entire body. Harry puts his full energy into playing and can be very active. He loves wrestling with Loki, his foster sister who is the only one who can match his energy. He is not too sure about the household dog yet and watches to household cats warily.

Loki is a impish black and tan tabby who can move and pounce like the wind. Although she is tiny she makes up for her size with her whirling energy as she plays and does acrobatics with her foster playmates. Loki is still a little shy with humans but is learning to appreciate a good snuggle. She enjoys napping with her foster sibling in between exploring any and all nooks and crannies to be found. Loki is particularly with her litter mate Harry and the two are well matched in both wrestling bouts and their love of naps.

Harry & Loki are available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue.  The adoption donation is $175 per cat. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Ross & Monika

Monika: I’m almost 22 weeks old, healthy, have short black hair and I love long afternoon naps! I usually like to snuggle up beside my brother Ross. Right from the beginning I allowed my humans to scratch the top of my head. Now I love being scratched behind the ears, which is when I purr the most, but like a good back and tail scratch too! I have really funny bursts of energy a couple times a day, when I like to chase after the balls or other toys we have, but my favourite thing to do is play with feathers tied to the end of a stick with my human. Or even just a long piece of rope my human will drag along the floor! I enjoy the company of my humans and like to sniff and play with them, but I don’t enjoy being held for too long. I’m ok if you pick me up for a few scratches on the head but then I liked to be put back down again please. If you continue to help me overcome this, I can be the perfect kitty for you! I eat dry food, love wet food and drink water all really well! I also have not had a single accident outside the litter box Which makes me proud because I didn’t even know what the heck that thing was when my humans rescued me from living outside for the first 15 weeks of my life! If you have room for me and my brother, along with patients and knowledge of farel kittens, we will love you furever!

Ross: Hey there! I’m Ross, Monika’s brother. I know we don’t look anything alike, you know me, with my puffy, super soft, black/grey fur… I’m really cute right! But she is my sister and I love her to pieces. She goes out and checks things out first then I quickly join her! When my humans rescued me, I was very scared! I stayed close by my Momma until she left us at 20 weeks old. Now I’m trying really really hard to be super sweet to my humans. I love love love being scratched behind the ears, which makes me just purr like crazy, and cuddling up next to sis for our long naps! I absolutely do not like being picked up and might even hiss if you try, but I’m getting much better because my human works with me every day to try and fix this. I will need continued work with this and I will also need your patience with me. I might hiss when you come in the room or surprise me from my nap but if you hold out your hand, I will rub up against it and start purring in no time! If my sister is sitting with my human, you can bet I’m right there trying to steal all the love and I also try to steal all the yummy treats, but my human is pretty good at making sure she gets enough lol. I eat dry food, wet food and drink water. I also am proud of myself for not having any accidents outside the litter box!!! My cat mom taught us well. If you let me and my sister into your homes, we will be happy on our own, and getting to know and love you!

Ross and Monika are available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Rescue.  The adoption donation is $175 per cat. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Derby and Chui

Meet Derby (the lighter one) and Chui (the darker one). They are brothers from the group of 10 kittens that we took in from a farm and ready to find their forever home together.  They are very bonded and we will not be separating them.  Derby is more energetic and brave and ready to explore everywhere. Chui, he is more tentative and timid than Derby. They are both good at using the litterbox, both comfortable with me touching their paws (though neither actually likes it), both drink a good amount of water and seemed to have now learned not to put their paws in the water dish.  They are comfortable being handled and love to cuddle with each other and play.  They have had their first shots and deworming and are ready for adoption!  If interested in them as a wonderful pair please apply.

Derby and Chui are available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $175 per cat. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Oliver

All of the kittens started off a bit shy and wary of us but very quickly turned into snuggle bugs. Now as soon as I walk into the room they will all run over, climb onto my lap and pass out in a big pile.  They all snuggle and play well together, and any pair would do well if adopted out in twos.

They struggled a bit with the litter box at first, but since we took the mattress (their favourite pee spot) out of the room, they’re much better and there is just the odd accident.

Oliver loves people. The second I walk in he’s always the first to run over and claim his spot on my lap, where he immediately passes out and starts purring. He was also the first to venture out of the cat carriers when we brought them home.

Oliver’s siblings are also available and he’d love to be adopted along with one more of them! Flynn, Ariel, Aurora, and Mowgli.

Oliver is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $175. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Aurora

All of the kittens started off a bit shy and wary of us but very quickly turned into snuggle bugs. Now as soon as I walk into the room they will all run over, climb onto my lap and pass out in a big pile.  They all snuggle and play well together, and any pair would do well if adopted out in twos.

They struggled a bit with the litter box at first, but since we took the mattress (their favourite pee spot) out of the room, they’re much better and there is just the odd accident.

Aurora has bursts of pure adrenaline and will run around the room. When she snuggles, being on your lap isn’t good enough, and she will climb up your chest onto your shoulders and bury herself in your hair and purr like a jackhammer. She’s such a sweetheart.

Aurora’s siblings are also available and she’d love to be adopted along with one more of them! Flynn, Mowgli, Ariel, and Oliver.

Aurora is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $175. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Ariel

They struggled a bit with the litter box at first, but since we took the mattress (their favourite pee spot) out of the room, they’re much better and there is just the odd accident.

Ariel is an extreme girl in the best way. Whether she is running headlong around the room, wrestling with her siblings or demanding human snuggles, she is in it 100%. She can be hyper and has a big personality.

Ariel’s siblings are also available and she’d love to be adopted along with one more of them! Flynn, Mowgli, Aurora, and Oliver.

Ariel is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $175. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. Mowgli

Mowgli is snuggly and playful, and fairly brave. He was the first one to try to make friends with my cat. He’s more in the middle/consistent in terms of the litter’s personalities.

Mowgli’s siblings are also available and he’d love to be adopted along with one more of them! Flynn, Ariel, Aurora, and Oliver.

Mowgli is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $175. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. Flynn is so sweet. I wouldn’t call him timid, but he is definitely the most mellow and independent of the bunch. He’s happy playing by himself in a corner while the other four are playing together, but he also loves attention and snuggles, though it’s a bit more difficult to get a purr out of him, and his siblings are often the ones provoking him and not the other way around.

Flynn’s siblings are also available and he’d love to be adopted along with one more of them! Mowgli, Ariel, Aurora, and Oliver.

Molly

Molly the senior beagle found a new home with a family in Hamilton where she will get the care she needs.

Clifford

My name is Clifford and I am a 1.5-year-old (approx.) Presa Canario mix! Sadly, I’ve seen my fair share of homes. I’ve been in 7 in my short lifetime and I hope to make the next my last. I came to GRAB as an urgent owner surrender and in poor condition. I was underweight, dirty, and terrified to be changing homes in the middle of the night.

Since arriving at my foster home, I have put on some weight and am sitting at about 120lbs. I am a big boy and still young and immature, so training efforts have been focused on basic manners so I don’t knock anybody over or hurt them accidentally. I am making great progress and can greet my foster family in a (mostly) calm manner at the front door when they get home – even though it is difficult because it’s still one of the greatest parts of my day!

I lived with another dog in my foster home, who recently passed away, and we got along very well! I learned to take physical and verbal cues from her on gentle playing and boundaries. Although I miss her dearly, a home with another dog is not necessary – my people are more important to me. In my foster home, we also have rabbits. They don’t bother me in their house (sometimes I try and sneak hay to eat), but I need supervision when they are out and about because I am naturally curious about them. I have also lived with cats in the past (as per the previous owner).

While my foster parents are at school and work, I am allowed free range of the house. I had been used to a crate at one point in my life, but they aren’t my favourite and I am well behaved on my own so I don’t use one anymore. At home, you can find me anywhere my people are. I love curling up on the couch with them to cuddle, or nearby in my bed while we watch TV. I help supervise the cooking and am great at picking up crumbs and food dropped on the floor. I am very food driven, so if you don’t want anything eaten, please don’t leave it out to tempt me. At night, I am quite comfortable to curl up at the foot of the bed to sleep.

One of my favourite things to do is play fetch. A nice sized backyard would be preferred to be able to run off-leash and play, as being outside is also a favourite of mine (especially in the snow!). I walk well on a leash (with a harness) and am rarely interested in others around me – I just want to explore – but I can be leery around some strangers, so training and gaining confidence and trust in new people is a must. I need walks of about 45-60 minutes a day to keep my mind fresh and release any extra energy. I LOVE durable rubber toys and antler chews to play with, but I have issues with resource guarding valuable toys and my food, so a safe distance and training is still needed in this area.

Even though I am great with the adults that I know in my home, I am very nervous around new people and will require an experienced and confident owner to work with me (and a positive reinforcement trainer) to overcome this. Because of my uneasiness, a quiet and controlled environment at home, with no children, is required.

Clifford is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $400. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. Pharell

Hi, meet Pharell! He was found as an outside stray by a kind lady who built trust with him and took him in. He is now enjoying the indoor life and warms up to adults more easily now.  Pharell loves to have lots of pets and he loves his food and treats. He will take a little time to warm up in a new home but it will be worth it.  He will do best in a quiet adult home with no other pets/kids. He has lived with other cats and could do well with the right fit but he is happy on his own too. We believe Pharell to be about 5 years old or so. He has longer hair which will need some grooming to help from getting matted.  If you would like to give him the life he deserves please apply

Pharell is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $175. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Mittens

Hi, my name is Mittens and I am a 9 year old tabby that is full of love. My kind foster mom took me in when my mom had to go into longterm care sadly.  My mom was so happy I would be cared for and could find a new home.  I enjoy sitting on my human’s lap and getting lots of pets.  I can sometimes be very active and love to chase string around the house. One of my favourite past-times is sitting in the window sill or up in a cat tree, watching the world go by.  I can also be a feisty cat that gets easily riled up. I am used to living with just a single lady so I would like a similar home where I can get all of the attention and no other pets to share it with. If you think you have the lap for me please apply!

Mittens is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $175. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

He doesn’t like to be picked up like most cats but loves to be around you.

Oliver is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $175. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. Paula eats both wet and dry food, and has mastered the litter box.  She enjoys climbing the cat tree, playing with her toy mice and loves to chase her laser toy, and the tails of anyone that walks by.Paula is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $175. Sarah

Sarah was born on April 16, 2019 in the outdoors as part of a feral colony.  She was brought inside to a foster home at six weeks of age.  Sarah is a special kitten in that she has “Cerebellar Hypoplasia”.  This is a neurological issue that causes her to have unsteadiness and head bobbing while she walks.  There is no treatment for this disease; the condition is permanent; however, the symptoms should not worsen and do not affect the quality or length of her life.  Because she doesn’t know any different, she does not let this stop her.  She still plays with the other foster cats in the home and is quite affectionate.  Her foster mom thinks it just makes her extra cute!  Sarah eats both wet and dry food and has no issues with the litter box. She enjoys playing with her toys and especially likes the laser pointer. Sarah will need a home where she isn’t going to be susceptible to falling downstairs – she would be a perfect apartment or bungalow cat.  She can climb, and is often in the cat tree, but she loses balance and does fall.

Sarah is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $175. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Pearl & Cole

Pearl and her brother along with their 3 other siblings were born to a feral mom. A kind citizen brought her in when she started giving birth and one of our fosters opened up their home to mom and her kittens.

They were born on April 24 and are now 10 weeks old as of July 7/19.

Both Pearl and Cole were quite shy when they came to their current foster home but have come a long way and are now comfortable with the family and are starting to not be afraid of the two large dogs in the home.

Pearl is the more inquisitive one and she will come and see what is happening and Cole will follow.

Pearl has striking blue eyes and both her and Cole look like they will have medium hair.

Pearl and Cole are extremely bonded and follow each other around and are often found sleeping together. They spend a lot of their day playing and chasing each other.

Neither Pearl nor Cole are fond of being held but will come over for head and tummy scratches.
If you think your family is a good fit for these two lovely kittens please fill out an adoption application.

Pearl and Cole are available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue. The adoption donation is $175 each. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Charly

My name is Charly and I am an 8 year old chocolate lab/Chesapeake bay retriever mix. I came all the way from Quebec where my owner surrendered me. I spent nearly 4 months in the shelter and am glad to finally be out and in a home environment.

I am still energetic at my age and my favorite things to do are to play fetch, go for walks and take car rides. I sit really well in the car and settle fairly quickly. On walks, I do really well with a harness and hardly pull at all. Walks that are 30+ minutes are best, and allow me to relax and settle in for the day or night at home.

I currently live with another dog and am learning my manners! I have energy to play, but I am quickly realizing when it’s time to call it quits. I’d love another home with an active dog, but it is not necessary. I also live with a 12 year old boy and 2 rabbits! I am curious about the rabbits… But they are pretty boring so I mostly ignore them. I’d do best in a home with kids 12+ since I am 90 lbs and still learning manners and to not jump up on people. I can get pretty excited meeting new people as well and need redirection sometimes to settle down. I am very food motivated though, so training has been a breeze. I’ll do anything for a treat and praise!

When I am at home, you can usually find me sleeping, exploring the backyard or enjoying a chew. I love chews and will need strong toys that will last! Although I am not a big fan of my crate, I am getting used to being in it during the day while my foster mom and dad are at work. At night, I settle in on the bed to sleep with the family and have freedom around the house. is available for adoption together through Grand River All Breed rescue. The adoption donation is $400. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Mittens

My name is Mittens. I am a beautiful 2 year old female tuxedo cat (black and white) and I am looking for my forever home! I have unique markings and stunning green eyes.
I was found dumped in a rural area and was thankfully found and taken in. I have since been to the vet and given a clean bill of health!

I am such a sweet girl. I love to get petted and enjoy climbing into your lap and nuzzling your chin and neck. If you give me enough attention, I think I could be a lap cat too! I am pretty quiet but I will meow for you to pet me. I also love to rub up against your legs and I love to give kisses! Purring is my second language. I am a big purr machine! I am not a very picky eater but I do enjoy being treated to canned tuna whenever I can get it!
I am also a very clean girl and I always wash after eating or using my litter box.
Since living with my foster parents, I have never had any accident outside of my litter box.
With time, I can get along with other cats but am afraid of big dogs.

I am really looking forward to being adopted into your family!

Simon [Ferret]

Simon is a baby ferret in need of a loving, experienced home. He was born in June, 2018. Simon has a huge heart and a goofy personality. He loves to run around and play and be silly, but he’s always very gentle with his people. He hasn’t needed any nip training at all!

Simon had a tricky start, born at a roadside zoo where he came down with a digestive infection that made it impossible for him to put on weight. He was 365g when he came to the rescue in August, about a third the size he should have been by that age. It was challenging to eradicate the infection, but after several rounds of treatments, he finally started bulking up! Simon is now over a kilo and is no longer having digestive issues. We suspect he has some minor damage to his digestive tract, causing very low level IBD, so new foods should be introduced with care. He has some supplements that will go with him when he gets adopted, and if he has a flare-up, a dose or two sets him right again. He’s doing very well on Wellness Core right now and hasn’t had a flare-up in weeks.

Simon lives with another ferret and a dog who he both adores. His ferret friend is senior, but Simon is mostly gentle and not too demanding. He and his dog sister will play wildly for hours! Simon needs a home with other ferrets, or at least other ferret-friendly pets, as he’s very active and social and needs a lot of attention and vigorous play. Like all ferrets, Simon needs a lot of time, a lot of cleaning, a lot of food, and will need specialized vet care. Ferrets can live up to ten years, and don’t do well on their own or left in a cage. Ferrets like to play very roughly and need friends that are down for some intense wrestling!

Simon is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $170. All of our ferrets are spayed or neutered and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Theodore

Theodore is waiting to find his perfect human! He was approximately six months old as of January 2019. Theodore is a super shy little guy. He will need a home with a patient person that will allow him time to warm up. He is very food motivated and that will be the key to getting him comfortable. Theodore loves to explore and hunt his toys. Theodore loves other cats and would be OK with a respectful dog as well. His brothers have already been adopted, but Theodore waits patiently in his foster home for the perfect fit.

Theodore is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $175. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Cricket

Cricket is one of 6 kittens rescued from a feral colony. She is about 5 months old (born in August 2018). She is very cuddly and loves people. She may be quite shy at first but will soon warm up to anyone who is gentle and patient. She is a tortie with a black face. She would love to be adopted with one of her sisters – Willow, Panda, or Monkey. Here is a video of her just 2 weeks after her rescue (she is in the background). The lucky little girl in front has already been adopted.

Cricket is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $175. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Willow

Willow is one of 6 kittens rescued from a feral colony. She is still quite shy and is just beginning to come for cuddles. With a little time and patience she will become a wonderful companion. She is about 5 months old and would love to be adopted with one of her sisters – Panda, Cricket, or Monkey.

Willow is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $175. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Rosie

Rosie is a true sweetheart. She was up with her foster person on the couch same day she arrived, and let them clip her nails right away. She was found in Glen Morris and her microchip number is no longer in service so we can’t track down an owner. She is 2 years old. Now while she loves love, like most cats she has her moments where she doesn’t want to be fussed over. She will meow loudly when she wants food and attention, so in the morning and in the evening, she’s also just generally chatty. Shes not too big on treats, she likes them of course, but she doesn’t understand the shaking of a bag or anything. She also won’t eat from hands, she prefers if you put them in front of her. She likes comfortable spots and she will lay in the middle of the floor, she also likes it by the sliding glass door because it’s nice and cool. She uses the scratching post. Shes a big eater and drinker. Shes also a bit of a ghost, she’s there one minute and gone the next time you look and half the time, I don’t know where she is, most likely under my bed, but she could magically appear somewhere else. She sometimes hops away when you approach but sometimes she’ll stay where she is and want pets. She loves most toys, her favourite is this catnip toy called a kitty cigar, she likes to bite and hold onto it.

Luna

Luna is a sweet 2 year old boxer/American bulldog mix. She is coming from a loving home that is forced to part with her due to her aggression with the other dog in the home. Luna is the sweetest, most loving girl towards people but she needs to be in a home where she is the sole pet. She is a very excitable girl in new situations but once she feels safe and content she is a cuddle bug.

Luna loves toys of all kinds and she is happy to play by herself but also loves to show off her toys and have people play with her. She is very easily taught tricks and desired behaviours with cookies, she is very food motivated.

Luna needs lots of exercise due to her breed natural high energy. She LOVES walks and is good on a leash when there are no distractions but she is not so good when other dogs are around. She is best walked in a less crowded area or during off peak hours to mimimize distraction.

Luna is completely crate trained but currently she is not using a crate since all she likes to do when left alone is make a pillow nest and wait for her people to return!

Luna is available for adoption together through Grand River All Breed rescue. The adoption donation is $400. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Sir Axelrod

When we brought this kitten home he was shivering and hungry. After a warm night and some food, the next day he was happy and playful.

He is so smart that he learned how to use the litter box quickly. He is very clean that way.

This little guy is adorable. He loves to play and has a lot of energy. He is very funny. When not playing, he will be sleeping on our laps. He likes to sleep on the bed with us too. He is very handsome and has a soul patch under his mouth.

He rarely meows and won’t wake you up during the night for food. He likes both wet and dry kitten food. He will bring joy to any family.

He doesn’t currently live with other animals or children so that is unknown but because he is young he could easily adjust most likely.

Sir Axelrod is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $175. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Tasha

Tasha is an (approximately) 8 year old poodle (mix?). She came to us as the owner could no longer care for her.

Tasha is a very affectionate, well behaved little sweetheart. She is quite happy to curl up beside you wherever you are.

She has taken very well to her new foster home, where she lives with a cat, but no other dogs. This is a good thing, because she does get along fine with the resident cat, but has had some negative behavours towards other dogs of all sizes. She is not immediately reactive, usually quite submissive, but may become dominate and confrontational, and for a little dog, she does not back down.

She is crate trained, but left out, she hasn’t gotten in to too much trouble, other than finding some stray socks to chew apart.

She barks at things that go bump in the night, but is pretty quiet when she is out in the yard and dogs walk by on the other side of the fence.

She likes to go for walks, and pulls a bit, but she is pretty small so it isn’t hard at all to manage. She also loves car rides. Sits very quietly and is so well behaved.

We haven’t had Tasha around any small children, but she hasn’t had any negative reaction to any human up to this point. She does play shy, mostly to men, and would likely take to the female of the family more than the male.

Tasha also does have some separation anxiety, and barks and cries when I leave for work, so an apartment would probably not be a suitable home for her.

Tasha is available for adoption together through Grand River All Breed rescue. The adoption donation is $400. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Rory

Rory (previously Chalka in our program) is now 5 years old (born March 2013). She is very playful, she loves to fetch but also plays very well by herself. She is very gentle with her toys and doesn’t rip or ruin them. She gets along with 2 cats. She is very gentle with them, and doesn’t chase. She settles down easily while we get ready in the morning for work and also when we want to sit and read or watch television. She loves going for walks.

Rory is leash reactive with other dogs and when frustrated may redirect. She is fine with some dogs off leash and is in training to help her improve her leash frustration. For this reason, Rory should go to a home with experienced dog owners or owners willing to work with a trainer on this matter. She would do best in a home with kids 12 plus. If interested please apply.

Rory is available for adoption together through Grand River All Breed rescue. The adoption donation is $400. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Declan

This handsome guy is super rambunctious when he sees strangers and other dogs, but when he’s in the house relaxing all he wants is to be cuddled and loved.

Declan needs an experienced owner who is willing to walk him daily during off peak hours, or in less crowded areas and a fenced yard where he can be off-leash would be ideal.

He knows not to beg for food and is very good at being alone with his peanut butter kong during the day (after his morning walk of course) – and will definitely light up when you come home to him in the evening.

This sweet 7 year old will steal your heart and keep it protected for you.

Declan needs a home without other animals but is fine with kids and would like a nice yard to play in! He is originally from a first nation reserve and was adopted out several years ago and due to some family issues they could no longer keep him. He was well loved and would like another family to call his own.

Declan is available for adoption together through Grand River All Breed rescue. The adoption donation is $400. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Jessica & Jeffrey

These cuties are now approximately 16 weeks old. They came to our rescue after having lived outside for the first two months of their life. They are still a bit shy of everyone but they are starting to become more social.

Jessica is definitely the most curious and bold of the two. She is inquisitive and loves to chase toys on a wand. He latest trick is to chase feet under a blanket. She is usually the one who will instigate play and she loves to explore.

Jeffrey is a little more shy but is the cuddler and he purrs like an engine. He loves the chase game with his sister and he is no pushover when it comes to playing.

They love to chase each other around the house and they are even getting used to the resident large dogs. They could live with a respectful dog given time as they do not like when the one dog gets excited when they are playing.
They are both eating well and using the litter box without issues.

Jessica and Jeffrey are available for adoption together through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $175 per cat. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Beans & Biscuit

Beans & Biscuit were rescued at 8 weeks old from a farm after their mom had been hit by a car. These two boys adapted to life indoors immediately! Since day one they have been such loving and affectionate kittens who crave human attention and look for any opportunity to be around people. They are both very high energy and playful (as kittens tend to be) and love toys of any kind!

Beans (light coloured tabby)
Beans is an energetic, loving and affectionate boy. He loves all human contact and looks for any opportunity to be around people. Beans is a purring machine, who starts purring the second a human walks in the room.

Biscuit (dark coloured tabby)
Biscuit is slightly more shy than his brother Beans, but is extremely loving and affectionate. Biscuit lives for belly rubs, rolling over any chance he can. He loves to lick people during playtime and cuddle time. Biscuit likes to play, but also enjoys along time.

Biscuit and Beans are the ultimate cuddle monsters! Every chance they get they snuggle up into their foster mom and foster dad’s lap! They are the best lazy-Sunday companions and provide the warmest welcome home at the end of a long day. They are constantly purring – their foster family jokes that Biscuit and Beans purr instead of breathing. They are such a joy to be around and would make a wonderful addition to any family. In their foster home they have been exposed to so many different things that have made them adaptable and easy going! They like children and toddlers, adult cats, senior dogs and young dogs alike, pregnant women (because pregnant bellies make the best cuddle spots), busy households and quiet ones too!

Beans & Biscuit are available for adoption together through Grand River All Breed rescue. The adoption donation is $175 per kitten. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Fred & Ginger

Fred and Ginger are looking for a good home together! The orange female just had 6 kittens and is an excellent affectionate mother. The tabby male is more shy but enjoys to be petted. They were both living outside in the country in the cold this past winter. They are very bonded and would like a home together.

Rose

Rose is a shy princess and about 10 mths old. Her green eyes and pink nose suit her name well. It takes time and love for her to warm up to you. She is very curious, often perusing around with her tail wagging. She loves to play, especially with hair ties, which she can find anywhere. She enjoys relaxing, sitting in the window and really comfy places to sleep. She is a climber! She loves her brother and will call for him to come and play with her. They are quite nocturnal but calm down within an hour. She would like to be adopted with her brother, Bugsy. Please apply if you would like a pair.

He responds to his name very well and is very smart.

He is protective of his little sister, Rose, often leading the way. They love to cuddle together and take turns chasing toys. He would like to be adopted with his sister as they are bonded. Please apply if you would love a pair!

Nemo

Nemo is an adorable 9 year old sweetheart who is looking for her furever family. Nemo is shy at first, but after she warms up she is extremely lovable. She uses her litter box very well and loves food and treats! Nemo will pick a spot that will be ‘her spot’ and can almost always be found there. If she does not have access to this spot, she will be very vocal to let you know that this is her territory! Nemo gets along very well with her foster brother, and has also been introduced to small dogs with no problems. Nemo would do best in a quiet household, as she can become spooked quite easily by loud noises. Nemo is also declawed on her front paws.

Tawny

Meet Tawny. She is approx. 2 years old and was brought in as a stray to a humane society. She wasn’t doing well in a cage and we were asked to take her. She would do best in a quiet home and would probably love to live with a single person. She doesn’t like loud noises and tends to attach herself to one person. She likes to sleep at the end of your bed and will be a shadow to the person she trusts. She is calm but does enjoy a game of chase when you throw the toys. She will occasionally chase her tail when playing too. Tawny loves her wet food and it is the quickest way to make her your new best friend. Tawny has never lived with other animals in our program so we are unsure as to whether she would do well with them but most likely would prefer to be an only cat.

Tawny is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $175. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. Monkey

Monkey, more affectionately called Monk the Hunk, is a beautiful 8-year-old tabby male. He is currently the resident grump at his current foster home. Don’t be fooled by his perma-scowl though! Monkey is an affectionate cat that likes to be at the center of attention. After a few months in his new home Monkey has visibly become more affectionate and incredibly playful around his foster mommies. He’s even become a bit of a cuddle bum and will climb up into the laps of the “chosen ones” (check out the video link below). Further, Monkey is a very chatty fellow- and will greet his family at the door when they come home. Monkey needs a lot of attention or he gets frustrated – he hates knowing something is going on in a part of the house and will usually meow and paw at the door. His foster family is currently working on positive reinforcement to change this behaviour, and his new family is encouraged to do the same.

Although playful, Monkey has been known to become easily overstimulated resulting in some hard nipping and occasional scratching. Due to this it is recommended that he go to a home with no children, with true “cat people” who can respect his boundaries. In his previous foster home Monkey got along very well with the house dog, and with supervision could even live with a pet bird! If you’re interested in adopting Monkey or have any questions don’t hesitate to contact GRAB who can get you in touch with Monkey’s foster parents.

Monkey is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $175. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. Bunny

Here is Bunny! She is approx. 6 years old the vet thinks and was found as an outside stray near a barn. Bunny lives with other foster cats and tolerates them but would prefer to be the only cat most likely. She would make a great companion for anyone wanting an affectionate cat.

Bunny is a very skilled cuddler. Her favourite hobbies include napping, resting and snoozing. She can do many tricks, such as, lying down and closing her eyes. She is particularly good at purring. Her most impressive trick is an impression of a frog which she performs when meowing.

Bunny is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $175. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. Kali

Kali is a gorgeous and petite shorthaired tabby who was born on April 2, 2009.

From Kali’s foster mom:

She is a spayed, short haired, silver tabby with a sweet temperament. She loves affection, will sit with you to be petted and sometimes enjoys it so much that she drools a bit. She is really a gentle soul. Likes to play, likes being at the top of the cat tree, she can be a real chatty girl sometimes – like when she hasn’t seen you in awhile.

She doesn’t get along well with other cats but would be an excellent only cat or perhaps with the right dog. She eats mostly urinary control food, but I think her problem is mainly stress related from harassment by the other cats. Throughout, she has been very good using the litterbox.

Kali is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $175. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Jack

Jack was adopted out in 2009 but is unfortunately being returned as he has been diagnosed with diabetes. He requires insulin shots 2X a day and we are looking for a home for him that is experienced with diabetic cats or is willing to learn! He is an amazing cat who is well worth it!

Jack is a 7-8 year old declawed male black and white cutie who had a rough start in life. He had been living outside and the vet thinks he was possibly thrown from a car, based on injuries to his back paws. He had also been beaten up by other cats, and was in rough shape when we got him. A kind citizen took in this poor cat and we then took him into our program. He has been fixed up and is doing much better now!

He is a friendly cat who likes to sit on his foster mom’s lap. He gets along well with other cats, and he would prefer a home without dogs. He would be fine living in a home with kids.

Jack has a very cute squeeky meow! He loves to chat, so if you are looking for a good conversationalist, Jack is your guy!

Update on Jack, Nov. 3, 2013:

Jack is doing well with his diabetes he has his shots of 2.5 units of insulin twice a day. He does not even notice it is being given as I give it when he is eating and boy does he love his food.

He is living with several other cats all with very different personalities and he is relaxed and happy around all of them.

He loves to just lay on the window sill in the sun or lounge on the back of the couch.

He would love a home where he could get a bit more attention as he likes to be cuddled and fussed and as there are dogs here he is not keen and tends to stay in the basement with the other cats.

He would love a home where he could be part of the action.

Jack is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $175. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Lulu

Lulu is a gorgeous tortoiseshell girl who is approximately 1 year and 10 months old (as of January 2013).

From Lulu’s foster mom: Lulu is a sweet gentle girl who loves to cuddle. Right now she lives in a house with many other cats and would be happier with fewer cats and more time to cuddle with people. She is very shy when meeting new people so she is looking for a quite patient person to love her.

Lulu is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $175. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. If you’d like to adopt, please fill out an application. You can also reach us by email at GrandRiverRescue@hotmail.com.

Flower

Flower and her sister Charlene (adopted) were found living in a garage by a kind woman. They were found with their mother, who was pregnant again. The woman who found all 3 cats phoned us and we were able to take the entire group into our program thanks to the help of 2 wonderful foster homes (one being the woman who found this little family!).

Flower and Charlene are approximately 5 years old. (born in 2008). Flower is a beautiful grey tabby and she is also a polydactyl, meaning that she has extra toes!

Flower is currently being fostered in a quiet foster home with no other pets. We believe this would be the best type of forever home for her, as she is the happiest in this situation!

Flower is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue.  The adoption donation is $175. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption.
